A Mixed Media piece reflecting my Immigrant story from The Dominican Republic to NYC. in the 80's. My mother contracted Diabetes and a slew of medical ailments when we came to America. This piece showcases the Diabetic materials my mother has used for the past 20 years and the Dominican side shows all the natural beauty we take for granted in our home lands.

I continue my research on the Taíno people. 

I  dive deep into the Taino language, customs and spirituality 

so that we can replicate the indigenous culture 

almost wiped out by colonialism.
